cb-625 Instruction Manual

However you decide to mount the cb-625, (rubber band recommended), extreme care is required. Do not put your fingers in front of the muzzle or look down the barrel unless you are absolutely certain the gun cannot possibly go off.

The cb-625 prefers round barrels, 12 to 32mm diameter with the bore down the centre. To get the correct setting for your gun, fing the highest and lowest working positions then put it in the middle.

Press "RST" to switch on and between shots. Use the other buttons to select meters per second or Joules. The cb-625 switches off automatically after 1 minute without shots or buttons pressed.

Hold down "m/s" or "J" and the cb-625 displays the average, then the minimum, then the maximum speed or power. To reset the averages, hold down both "m/s" and "J" until the display shows"000". Press "RST" to continue.

To preset the cb-625
Hold the "RST" button down for 10 seconds to see the options. If you want to switch off, change the pellet weight etc, just release "RST" when that option shows.
1. The whole LCD turns on: Release now to reset.
2. A blank display: Release now to switch off.
3. The pellet weight: Use the "J" key to select a digit, use the "m/s" key to change it. Press "RST" when weight is correct.
4. "Gb" or "Eur": Use "m/s" to select Imperial or Metric
"Gb" = feet/second, foot pounds, grains
        "Eur" = meters/second, Joules, grams
5. The legal limit: Shots above this power level show as "FAC", shots below this power show "LEGAL".

How to calculate kinetic energy
                            1          2
kinetic energy in Joules = --- x M x V
                            2
where M is the mass in Kg and V is the speed in meters/second.

For example, a 0.25gram 6mm BB shooting at 125 meter/second, by putting the figures into the above formula, the kinetic energy of the 6mm BB is 1.953 Joules.

Troubleshooting
1. Flat batteries. If you get one or two shots and then everything else shows as "bad", then the battery is probably flat. To change the battery you must remove the screws and open the case.

2. If your cb-625 refuses to switch on when you press "RST". Check the batteries are properly installed. The cb-625 will not work at temperatures below freezing.

3. If you press "RST" and get a "sun behind the cloud" symbol. One of the sensors is eithe blocked or has been shot away. The cb-625 indicates the blocked end with a vertical bar on the display. Remove any obvious obstruction, clean the sensors being careful not to scratch them. Shot cb-625's are usually repairable.

4. If the cb-625 ignores you shots. The display should change from "READY" when a pellet is detected. Bright sunlight can be a problem. Check the pellets are going down the centre of the top tube. Is it possible the pellets are too fast for the cb-625 range? Check for flat batteries and damaged sensors.

5. If you shoot and get a "bad" message. Only the first sensor saw the pellet. Check the alignment, avoid direct sunlight. Usually indicates a flat battery.

6. If the cb-625 reads over or under speed. Alignment with the barrel is more important with .177 calibre. Repeat the test in subdued light. Is it possible the other chrono is being affected by muzzle blast? The pellet may be slowing down between the two chronoscopes. Do you get the same error at twice the separation?
